I purchased a new home in 2007. Can I claim the taxes I paid on my home at the time of purchase on my income tax forms (federal and state)? I live in Michigan.

Property Tax will go on Schedule A. Plus, with the purchase of a home, there are several other things you will be able to deduct. However, this will involve some detail. File the extension right now, and consult a CPA.
