I’m looking at some new homes in the Raleigh, NC area. ME and my wife are in the market to buy a home. (We have good credit and a good down payment). These new homes that are already built in the new neighborhoods have stated prices. Are these negotiable?

I just brought home a new 7 year old lab mix male (90lbs). My home already has an IG (20lbs). With his food and treats and toys he is very gentle with myself and my 3 year old son. Without toys his plays well with my IG (that is used to being around only big dogs.) But when he has a toy he snarles and growls at my IG. Not at my son or at me, just at my IG. I get that he is trying to establish his dominance in his new home, but is there a way to keep from doing that. If he ever did go after him it could be fatal? (90 lbs against 20!) When I leave I am kenneling him until I can trust him but can I do when I am home? Any suggestions are welcome! Just as a side note, he is terrified of my two cats, any suggestions there would be nice too!
I want to build a new construction home. The loans I have researched want interest-only payments until the house is complete. That is impossible considering that would be as much as a house payment and I already have a hefty one of those! I will make a nice profit off my house once it’s sold but I can’t do that until my new home is built. And I can’t build my new house until…….you see my problem?! They also require K down. Can that be included in the one loan I get so I don’t have to take out two loans? I have to be overlooking something. I can’t imagine it’s this difficult for everyone who already owns a home and wants to build. Any tips or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!
I have found a neighborhood with new homes being built that I love. I know at this time they do not have a lot of new buyers. I like a one floor plain that is right in my price range. But I like a higher price elevation. It is 00 more. I cant add any more to the cost of the home. This is a buyers markets and there are alot more home to be sold even outside of this neighbrhood.
My parents bought a new home and decided to move into that new home for two years, claim it as their primary residence and then move back into our old home and sell the new home without having to pay capital gains (on the first 0k). I just took a real estate class in Hawaii and was told by the instructor that if my parents were audited when they filed their taxes, this would be considered fraud (vs moving into a new home and selling their original residence). Is this true?
OK-I know that I have asked this question or something similiar to it many times before, BUT, I want to be thoroughly researched before we start.
We are in the planning stage of builidng a new home. We have 2 children, ages 4 and 7 who are very active. We have met once with our designer and have basically come up with the fact that we want a 2-story "Farmhouse" type home. We are going to be building on a 200+ acre farm, and wanted to stick with the theme. I want to build as much house as I possible can within my budget. Does anyone have any suggestions on things that I can put into the house? Any suggestions on upgrades? Any suggestions on where we can find materials, etc. at discounted prices without sacrificing quality. I want this home to be something that we can live in and enjoy for the rest of our lives, and I want everything to be of top quality. Any info that anyone can give is appreciated, especially from builders! And for other, what do u have that u can’t live without?
Okay, I have a cat, and my boyfriend has one. In the future we plan on moving into an apartment together, instead of me moving into his house or him moving into mine. So we have a unique cat situation. We won’t be introducing cats to a house that already has cats. So not only will we have the trauma of a new house, but throw in a new cat as well. Neither of them will have the "home field" advantage. How difficult will this be?
I am purchasing a new home and rather than showing a living room in the floor plans they are indicating a great room. The upgrades that come with the home only pertain to formal rooms so is a great room considered to be a formal room?
We bought a new home last August 2005. The taxes for 2005 were based on a property value of 17,000$. Our home is now worth about 150,000$ for 2006. We signed a paper during the purchase, asking the escrow account to go ahead on figure the new tax rate on our home into the mortgage payments from the beginning. I am not sure if they are doing it from the paperwork I have seen. So I am afraid we will be responsible for a huge tax payment come January that we are not prepared for. And, our monthly payments will go up to accommodate the new tax rate for the next year, etc. We cannot afford a 300-400$ increase a month. How do I find out for sure if the escrow account is being funded at the proper levels so there are no surprises come January. This is worrying me greatly!
We built a house on a lot worth 17,000.
Now the property is worth 150,000-lot and new house together.
Recently moved in to a newly built home in a rural area, right next to a busy road.
Recently I’ve noticed weirdos stopping in front of my home and taking photographs of my property. When I go outside to let them know I can see them, they take off.
At nights, there are strange cars parked on the road with their headlights on near my home.
I have expensive new cars parked on my property so I am thinking they are planning to carjack them or rob my home.
So far I’ve:
Installed a fence around the property.
Got a large dog that bark at strangers and will bite if they happen to jump the fence
Which is the best wireless security camera that works in the total darkness (there are no street lights here) and that can be broadcast on the Internet?
I have a chain linked fence only, so what can I do so they can’t see throught it?
Any other ideas?
