New home and wanting to get another cat?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

We are just moved to our new home & we want to get another cat. Our other cat will be coming by plane in a month to join us. We want to get him a friend. Would it be better to get the new cat when he arrives so that both are new to the house & neither have their own territory or should we get the new cat after our cat has established his territory? I just want to make sure they get along. Our cat is used to other cats and we’re planning to adopt an adult cat who is also good with other cats as well in hopes they will get along better if they’re used to other cats.
